All my work and writing is based on my book the One Living System (found here). Our place amongst the sacredness of Life and the journey of our return back to its oneness is this moment and the next ... how we live into this, will depend on our waking as the giants that we are to all we can offer to this Life.
What is wild?
The idea of Wild is - as most of us would know - living or growing within the natural environment as one species requires by its natural instinct and intuitive survival, that critters and creations are not domesticated or cultivated into a human managed form. This was once all of Life, including us. Wild and roaming free. Over time this ‘way’ has of course been shaved and shaped through human management with people, plants, animals and place all shaped into our desired cultivated ‘today’.
Rewilding as a way of returning to our once wild beginnings is a concept around land management or conservation that offers a pathway of open awareness to both the human as well more than human travellers.
Whilst it can offer a range of actions in order to bring about a more ‘whole’ nurtured space, it is also the inaction that offers rewilding it’s return.
Our return to our oneness
What often isn’t spoken about in the rewilding narrative is the oneness and wholeness it returns us to. ‘Taking down fences or barriers’ isn’t just removing the metal lines that declare ownership, it is also the barriers from within us that removes our connection from that rewilding energy. Rewilding for us is a form of decolonisation. Rewilding for us not only decolonises our minds but our spirits and souls so that we fall into our oneness - our way - with the ability to see beyond ownership and barriers and offer ourselves into a more united capacity.
In many ways rewilding is what naturally arises on allowing ourselves to remove our minds, hearts and being away from a colonised colonial mindset. As we free ourselves from that caged thinking we naturally return.
Return
I write about return a lot. Return is allowing ourselves to know what is within. I don’t use words like reconnect - as it claims we have been disconnected - when we have never been. We are and always will be one with Life. Life doesn’t see our disconnect but it does feel our lack of desire to connect, our lack of care and consideration. As an energetic force Life knows we are one, but feels our distance through our actions.
RE - as a deconstructed pause - offers return to words like re-member - in which we are called to bring ourselves together again. It is within us to know this returned space hence we are called to it once more. Likewise re-cognise in which we are called to re know and re call our truth.
In this, through this we return.
Movement
When speaking the language of the Living System, movement replaces words like action or exercise. We move - we are called to move - this movement is as much internal as it is external. You cannot always see the river flowing but underneath the surface there to lay a stream that continues the fluidity of Life. Likewise within our being we hold external expressions of movement and internal. Our internal being is attuned to Life and always seeking to be in harmony with the essence of energetic Life force that is at all times flowing. Our cyclical circadian clocks beat with Life herself.
It is the external movement that carries forth our intention and desire, and in this it is guided by the conscious connections we have to our oneness. We are either damaging and destroying or planting and creating. We can tread lightly or our footprints can be so heavy they bury Life’s own intentions.
Movement in rewilding is both internal and external. It is offering the internal intuition of Life to spring forth all that is possible at the same time as externally being witness to expressions that don’t always meet our forms.
In many ways the term rewilding isn’t accurate for what Life brings, for it too is returning to its known form as do we. We aren’t rewilding per se, we are here to guide and offer our capacity to steward.
It is more than simply leave it
More than sit on our hands, more than slumber and let it be. Without pruning hard to shape how we want it or extracting to make others buy through us, this is acknowledging nature holds the pharmacy, honouring that allowing Life all things are revealed.
Our way in alignment is to be of service in tending so all things work in harmony. We are keepers of the balance. When once we took all Life offered for ourselves and have left nature to perish, we return and allow her wild unabandoned force to grow.
It’s not simply let things go - it is let things grow and witness how it does - shape with it, move through it.
wild isn’t take your hands off the wheel it is tread gently on foliage
return isn’t going back to old ways and habits it is remembering
Stillness
At the same time as focusing on movement we offer stillness. They aren’t opposites, they are collaborators.
In a dance with movement we turn to stillness. We use our gifts of silence, stillness and observation to bring wisdom to what needs to be done.
It is stillness that stretches Life into its becoming
Whilst we seek to steward All of Life, in rewilding allowing the energy itself to be freed to express explore and become, stillness offers us the capacity to allow stretching and revealing, through which clear opportunities present that call for our caretaking.
Stillness is the ability to breathe with the land and its way, it’s an offer of observance to guide and hold patience for things to rise. It is for us to find oneness.
As we settle through stillness we find commonality. We realise that there is more kin to ‘us’ than there is difference and we step into service.
More than rewilding a field or a paddock, more than rewilding a large landscape to its once known being - rewilding - is for all of Life, from the decolonised state we return to all that we are and through our dance of movement and stillness, we fall into Life and allow our BEING to be one with All That Is.
May your wild be free beyond your skin such that you return to your sacred essence of Life and in this inspire All else to dance with you.

UN AI’d
just a statement that all that I write and offer - is from Divine connection tossed with Life reality and massaged thoroughly with conscious intention - completely unAI’d.
Such a spacious article thank you. Stillness is the field within which movement occurs
This article answers our collective feeling of that ache of 'how do we fix this?' with 'maybe it starts with us just showing up differently.' which is one of the best answers out there.
Grateful for your voice in these wild times.
